Arizona: Prop 207
Personal Possession: Effective after voter-approved initiative is certified on November 30, 2020.
Commercial Licensing: Application for Marijuana Establishment Licensing
starts January 19, 2021 through March 9, 2021, will issue licenses no later than 60 after application submitted
Expungement: Individuals can petition courts starting July 12, 2021
Montana: I-190
Personal Possession: Personal use, possession, and cultivation of marijuana January 01, 2021
Commercial Licensing: Begin accepting applications by October 01, 2021
South Dakota: Amendment A
Personal Possession: July 1, 2021
Commercial Licensing: No later than April 1, 2022
Mississippi: Initiative 65
Personal Possession: The department shall adopt rules and regulations no later than July 1, 2021
Commercial Licensing: Begin issuing ID cards and dispensary licenses by August 15, 2021

Congratulations to President Elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. & Vice-President Elect Kamala D. Harris. This historic election has concluded with more Americans voting than ever before. So what happens next for cannabis prohibition?
Vice-President Elect Harris is the sponsor of the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement Act which would decriminalize marijuana federally by removing it from the Controlled Substances Act. The US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee passed the MORE Act last November and now that the elections are over we the people are calling on the US House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer to schedule it for a full vote in the United States House of Representatives.

U.S. Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has refused to take up any bills from the Democratic controlled House of Representatives resulting in major legislation being delayed including COVID-19 relief packages. Yet, now the control of the United States Senate zeroes in on the state of Georgia. With both of Georgia's U.S. Senate seats headed to runoff elections on January 5th, should Democratic candidates Raphael Warnock & Jon Ossoff win, the Democratic Party would have 48 seats, and joined by U.S. Senators Angus King Jr. (I-ME) & Bernie Sanders (I-VT) that would effectively tie the Republican Party's 50 seats leaving Vice-President Elect Kamala Harris to be the deciding vote on the cannabis decriminalization.
