Suncoast NORML Reschedules Annual HalloWEED Costume Contest 2024 Amid Hurricane Recovery Efforts

Updated: Nov 13

Tampa, FL — Suncoast NORML, the Tampa Bay chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, is excited to announce the 2024 HalloWEED Costume Contest on Saturday, November 16th at Dignitary Café in South Tampa, located at 4817 S West Shore Blvd. Although originally scheduled to coincide with Halloween, the event was postponed due to two major hurricanes that recently impacted Tampa Bay, causing flooding at Dignitary Café and challenges for the community. Now, Suncoast NORML invites all to join for a night of fun, advocacy, and support for cannabis reform in Florida.

Since its founding in 2014, Suncoast NORML has advocated tirelessly for the legalization of cannabis in Florida, playing a pivotal role in the success of medical marijuana campaigns and decriminalization efforts across the state. This year, in the wake of the failure of Florida Yes on 3 initiative to legalize adult-use cannabis on November 5th, Suncoast NORML continues its mission to inform and empower the public on cannabis reform. With HalloWEED 2024, they aim to raise awareness and funds for this critical cause, blending advocacy with a lighthearted cannabis-themed costume party.

Celebrate HalloWEED with Entertainment, Prizes, and Cannabis Advocacy

Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with live entertainment, music, and a highly anticipated cannabis-themed costume contest, where creativity meets cause. The contest will feature cash prizes and a grand prize—a Puffco Peak Pro—for the winner. All proceeds from the event will go towards Suncoast NORML’s advocacy efforts, supporting campaigns like Yes on 3 and other initiatives aimed at reforming marijuana laws in Florida.

“Despite the setbacks from recent storms, our resolve to advocate for cannabis reform in Florida is stronger than ever,” said Christopher Cano, Executive Director of Suncoast NORML. “This event embodies our mission—combining community, education, and a bit of Halloween fun to drive awareness and support for legalization efforts. We welcome everyone who believes in reform and community to join us for a fantastic evening.”

Jungle Boys Sponsors HalloWEED Costume Contest, Providing VIP Gift Bags and Supporting Cannabis Legalization Efforts

We are thrilled to announce that Jungle Boys, a renowned Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, is sponsoring the HalloWEED Costume Contest, generously supporting Suncoast NORML's mission to legalize cannabis in Florida. As part of their sponsorship, Jungle Boys will be providing exclusive gift bags for our VIP ticket holders, making the night even more memorable. We commend Jungle Boys for stepping up and demonstrating their unwavering commitment to cannabis advocacy, especially at this critical time following the recent failure of Amendment 3. Their support comes when we need it most, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication to pushing cannabis legalization forward in our state. We wont be able to do it through Amendment 3 but maybe, with support from the community, Suncoast NORML will be able to push through some sort of legislation.
